le lac, d'un bleu turquoise, pailleté par le soleil du matin, le laissait indifférent ; les rayons couvraient l'eau de millions de diamants étincelants. Devant ce spectacle, Tim en oublia même la fête de son frère. Il sortit de l'auto à la hâte et courut jusqu'à la berge. Il s'étendit sur le quai et écouta le clapotis des vagues s'échouant sur la rive. Il connaissait bien tous les recoins de cette parcelle de terre. Il se sentait chez lui.

Puis, sans bruit, tout doucement, sans se faire remarquer, son grand-père vint s'asseoir à ses côtés sur le quai.

— C'est beau, n'est-ce pas ? dit-il.

— Bonjour, grand-papa ! Oui, c'est beau… Tu es si chanceux de pouvoir admirer cette scène tous les jours.

marc Couture lives in Gatineau, in the Outaouais region of Québec, where he teaches French at the elementary school level. Endowed with a boundless imagination, Marc told and embellished stories in class but soon decided to write his own.
